Star Trek: Prodigy Tricorder Design

I had the great professional pleasure to collaborate with the Nickelodeon Animation Studio to provide the final design for the iconic Tricorder for their Star Trek: prodigy animated series. It was a very unique project because there was so much existing material to reference while also needing to focus the design on something compelling for a younger demographic. Ultimately we moved the design towards something that felt both futuristic and a little bit like the early 2000's when there was a new hardware update to the cellphone market every month with some sort of new opening mechanism or slick sliding motion. The original Tricorder designs all had a mix of high tech and function that I hope that intent comes across in the final design.
